Commemoration Tickets and Platform Tickets

Many of the commemoration tickets are of the "Good-bye Steam Locomotive" type, and they make me lonely.
Here I have arranged my collection of platform tickets and commemoration tickets in order by the date of issue, from 1965 to 1996. I find it " interesting" to compare the prices which are printed on these tickets.

Commemoration express tickets (1969,Sapporo) This particular ticket, of the "The steam locomotive series" were put on the market respectively every month in 1969, from January to December, three of out of 12 of them.

The 100th year of Meiji, the platform ticket of the commemoration (1968,Nagano) The pictures of the four types of steam locomotive which played the major roles during the Meiji era (1867-1912) were printed on the tickets.

The 97th railroad memorial day platform ticket (1969, Nagoya) The steam locomotive types 5500, 8900, C53, and the type C55.

Good-bye Steam Locomotive Ticket (1970, Nishi-kagoshima) This ticket was to commemorate the electrification of the Kagoshima line between Kumamoto and Kagoshima.

Railroad Opening 99-year Commemoration Platform Ticket (1971, Mito) The Mito line was opened on January 16, 1889. The local people are shown welcoming a train with big fireworks at the "Chinami" lakeside.

Commemoration Platform Ticket (1971,Yamagata) The C-type series (with 3 sets of driving wheels) is depicted on them.

Railroad 100-year Commemoration Platform Ticket (1972,Sendai) The type 7100 (Benkei), The type 6700 (the first domestic steam locomotive), The type C62 (the biggest locomotive).

Koumi line steam locomotive operation commemoration(1973,Nobeyama) The Koumi line has been the major theater of operations for the type C56, the "horse of the highlands", for the full thirty-five years since its opening.

Takamori Line Steam Locomotive Good-bye Commemoration Platform Ticket(1974,Takamori) Takamori line has a picturesque scenery area where you can look down at Shirakawa's mountain torrent from the car window.

Platform Tickets (1965-1996, from all over the country) These platform tickets are 24 sheets from 10 yen (8 cents) in 1965 until 160 yen (1.30$) in 1996.
